Lumineer Tool Proves Powerful in Creating Benefit Plan Savings

Healthcare data can yield a goldmine of savings if you have the right tools. Recently High Line Health used its patented Lumineer tool to identify over $750,000 in potential savings on MRI scans for a customer with 140,000 members. The average savings potential was about $500 per scan.

By identifying various radiology payment bundles and evaluating both hospital and stand-alone facilities, High Line Health determined baseline pricing for procedures and existing utilization trends. With this type of analysis, Health Funds can consider benefit design plans that promote more efficient network providers.

Advanced analytics are essential in finding cost savings opportunities. The same basic MRI may vary by more than $1,000 per scan depending on the facility. This variance can be even greater in other procedures such as joint replacements, colonoscopies and endoscopies. Lumineer allows a deep dive into procedure payments while also ensuring member access to care.

High Line Health Partners with Local 338 to Enhance Health Benefits Reporting

Data analytics to supplement benefit management

NEW YORK(February 7, 2019)— High Line Health (High Line), a healthcare data analytics company, today announced it has entered into a contract with Local 338 Health & Welfare Fund, a benefit trust fund serving the membership of the labor union Local 338 RWDSU/UFCW (Local 338) to enhance its health benefits reporting.

High Line specializes in integrating complex healthcare data into a single source of truth for labor health funds and other large self-funded employers, payers and providers. The company’s platform allows administrators to monitor financial, utilization and quality trends and subsequently, identify actionable areas for improvement. This is done through analytical tools, such as customizable online dashboards.

Local 338 provides healthcare coverage for approximately 7,000 members who reside primarily in New York and New Jersey. High Line will integrate Local 338’s medical and pharmacy claims into a dedicated, secure data platform that will greatly improve its reporting capabilities.

“We’ll now be able to identify trends and patterns to improve management of benefit costs and ultimately, better serve our members,” said Charles Hamilton, funds administrator for Local 338. “These trends will enable us to pinpoint members, such as someone in need of complex care, and help them receive the services they need.”

High Line’s data expertise and visualization tools drive better healthcare insights and support cost containment for customers. This combination makes High Line a valuable partner in managing healthcare costs.

“By leveraging data, our customers gain greater visibility to cost drivers and are able to make changes accordingly, said Bernadette Kelleher, president, High Line Health. “We look forward to partnering with Local 338 to find new ways to manage their benefit costs.”
